Al Johnson's Swedish Resturant - Get Saucy in Your Kitchen with Saucy Mouth!Get Saucy in Your Kitchen with Saucy Mouth!

Al Johnson’s Swedish Resturant

Last weekend my husbands family and I took a trip up to Door County, Wisconsin. For those of you who don’t know where that is, it’s on a peninsula in north eastern Wisconsin. We decided to go visit because it’s a very pretty lake town. At one of the bay’s, called Sister Bay there is a Swedish restaurant called Al Johnson’s it’s nationally know for having real live goats on their roof!! Yes you heard me right!! Goats on top of a roof! They hang out all day on the grass roof eating and hanging out doing what goats do!

So not only does Al Johnson’s have the cool tourist attraction, but they have some incredible food! Once you make it inside to the resturant you are greeted by women wearing a traditional Scandinavian dress. We were seated at our table and when you have a family of 9 eating your going to see all the different types of food that are on the menu. At Al Johnson’s breakfast is served all day. I had the breakfast and I personally think it was the best thing on the menu. I had the Swedish Pancakes (Like Crepes) that came with eggs, Swedish meatballs, toast, and potatoes. All I can say is I didn’t breathe while I stuffed my face with all this Swedish goodness! I think I could eat Swedish Pancakes all day everyday! They also serve bread and crackers before each meal with butter and lingonberry sauce. Lingonberry sauce is once of my favorite berries. It taste’s like a sweet cranberry. They also make lingonberry juice, it’s so good! Our family dining experience at Al Johnson’s was incredible! I loved every minute we were inside. I truly felt like we were taken away to a small Scandinavian town.

So if you and your family find yourself around Sister Bay in Door County Wisconsin, stop in and have a wonderful meal at Al Johnson’s you won’t be disappointed!
